"... from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures ..."
II Timothy 3:15

Friend, the Bible is to be read by and taught to people of all ages. We can never be too young to be taught the Word of God, for the purpose of the Bible is to teach the way of salvation. Some authors write books in order to teach the reader how to make money, or how to be healthy, or how to be attractive, but the Bible was written to teach us how to be saved from the wrath of God for our sins. The apostle Paul wrote to his friend Timothy and reminded him that "from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."

The Bible teaches us the need everyone has (regardless of age) for salvation. It describes the morally corrupt condition of mankind since the sin of our first parents. It portrays man's plight of living under the wrath of a holy God because of our sins. The Bible also teaches us the way of salvation. It is "through faith which is in Christ Jesus." It is a salvation which does not come through one's own personal obedience and sufferings, but through faith in the obedience and sufferings of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Dear reader, it is a very sad fact that very few adults have been made wise unto this salvation. How then can they instruct their children in the gospel or good news of Jesus Christ? When parents live as if there is no heaven or hell, what can they teach their children about salvation in Jesus Christ? How can you warn your children to flee from the wrath to come if you have not done so yourselves? How important it is that parents should read and learn the Holy Scriptures that they may be saved, and may then teach their children the gospel. No one can ever be too young to believe upon Christ and repent of sin. Oh, do not fail your children.
