“However, there is not in everyone that knowledge; …”
I Corinthians 8:7

Not everyone knows that there is but one true and living God. Men have devised many of their own religions, gods, and forms of worship; the world does not lack for so-called gods. This is nothing new, for the apostle Paul wrote in the first century AD: “We know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one. For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live. However, there is not in everyone this knowledge;…” Dear reader, all religions and all gods are not equally valid. It is not enough to be sincere, one must also be correct. Before Jesus Christ ascended into heaven after His resurrection, He commissioned His disciples to go to all the nations of the earth to proclaim the gospel of God to them. All the nations of the earth already had their idols, their gods, their religions. Some of the religions that existed then still exist today, and men have invented more religions since that time. In commissioning His disciples to proclaim the gospel to the world, Jesus was in effect repeating what He had previously said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father except through Me.” When the disciples proclaimed the gospel of Jesus Christ, they said of Him: “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”---“However, there is not in everyone that knowledge;..” Friend, is that knowledge in you?
