“… the gospel of the grace of God.”
Acts 20:24

The message of the Bible is summarized in one word: gospel. Gospel means “good news” and this good news is about “the grace of God.” Biblical Christianity makes much of the grace of God because each one of us needs nothing more than that. We need God’s grace more than we need parents, health, education, finances, or political liberty. It would be better (if necessity required it) to be lacking these wonderful benefits while possessing the grace of God, than to be possessing these benefits while lacking the grace of God in one’s life. As the Bible makes much of God’s grace, it also makes much of human sin, for grace has to do with God’s favor towards sinners who deserve God’s wrath and curse. God has graciously sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to merit eternal life through His perfect obedience for all who would trust in Him. Part of His obedience involved enduring the curse for their sinful disobedience. He became “obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” The grace of God sent Christ to save sinners from their sins. God is gracious to sinners when He gives them the opposite of what they deserve: everlasting life instead of everlasting punishment, forgiveness instead of wrath, salvation instead of hell. When we fail to think or speak of sin and hell ( and needless to say, it is not fashionable these days), we fail to think or speak of the grace of God. We then fail to think or speak the gospel. Friend, each one of us needs the grace of God. Our eternal future is too dreadful to contemplate without it. Christ gives it freely to those who ask.
