“No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

John 14:6

Dear reader, your everlasting welfare and happiness depend on the correctness of your beliefs and convictions. It is not enough that we have beliefs and convictions; those beliefs and convictions must be correct regarding the essentials. Today we live in a moral and religious atmosphere which denies that there is any criterion by which to judge the correctness of our religious beliefs. Indeed, it is generally looked upon as the height of arrogance to say that one person’s beliefs are true and another’s false. To believe that there is only one God who made the world, and who is Lord of all the nations, and who has sent His only begotten Son to redeem sinners “out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation” is to believe the central theme of the Bible. Many religions and philosophies of life existed in the days of Jesus Christ, but they were not all correct in His eyes. Before He ascended into heaven He sent His disciples to all of the nations of the world to proclaim the gospel concerning Himself and to make converts from the worshippers of other gods. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” The apostle Paul reiterated this reality of false religions when he wrote: “we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one. For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.” What do you believe about Christ? Your convictions matter.
